Originals or reissues?
Most classics on Groovv are reissues. Only 22% of The Dark Side Of The Moon copies are original pressings, and 60% were pressed in 2008 or later. Brothers In Arms is the exception: 55% are originals.

The records people buy twice
The Dark Side Of The Moon is the album collectors most often own in more than one pressing: 15 of its 175 owners have at least two.

Completist magnets
Elvis Presley collectors are the biggest completists: they own 5.3 of the artist's albums on average, ahead of Prince (4.8) and The Beatles (4).

Starter crates and deep crates
A first crate and a deep one barely overlap. Gold (Greatest Hits) is in 16 of 496 starter collections and none of the 41 biggest, while big crates lean on The Cars, Tres Hombres and Marquee Moon.

Who cut your records
Every record starts as a lacquer cut by a mastering engineer. Chris Bellman cut the lacquers for records on 512 collectors' shelves, from Rumours to Metallica, ahead of Bernie Grundman (401) and Miles Showell (391).

Who pressed each decade
Two plants press most of today's vinyl: GZ Media (28%) and Optimal Media (27%) pressed 55% of the 2020s copies on Groovv whose plant is known. In the 1960s, Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman led with 11%.
Where it was recorded
Electric Lady Studios is the room behind the most Groovv collections: 389 collectors own a record made there, ahead of Abbey Road Studios (363) and Record Plant, Los Angeles (361).
