Groovv ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Groovv mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address (if signing up with email)
- Name and profile photo (if signing in with Apple or Google)
- Authentication identifiers provided by Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In
1.2 Collection Data
When you use the App, you provide:
- Records you add to your collection and wantlist
- Condition grades, purchase prices, notes, and tags you assign to records
- Records you import from Discogs
1.3 Scan Data
When you use the AI album cover scan feature:
- A photo of the album cover is temporarily sent to our AI processing service (OpenAI) for identification
- The image is processed in real-time and is not stored by us or our AI provider after identification
- Only the identified record metadata (artist, album, label) is retained
1.4 Subscription Data
If you subscribe to Groovv Pro:
- Purchase and subscription status is managed by Apple through the App Store
- We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements
- We do not receive or store your payment card details
1.5 Automatically Collected Information
- Device type and operating system version
- App version
- Anonymous usage analytics (if enabled)
We do not collect:
- Location data
- Contacts
- Browsing history
- Advertising identifiers
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the App
- Manage your account and collection data
- Process AI album cover scans
- Manage your subscription status
- Improve the App and fix bugs
- Communicate with you about your account or the App (only when necessary)
We do not:
- Sell your personal information to third parties
- Use your data for advertising or profiling
- Share your collection data publicly (unless you choose to in future social features)
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
Supabase — Authentication, database, and storage. We share account information and collection data with Supabase.

4. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (hosted on AWS)
- Data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- We use Row Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure you can only access your own data
- We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information
5. Data Retention
- Your account and collection data is retained for as long as your account is active
- If you delete your account, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
- AI scan images are processed in real-time and not retained
- Anonymous analytics data may be retained in aggregate form
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data at any time through the App
- Export your collection data (Pro feature: CSV export)
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Correct any inaccurate information in your profile
- Opt out of any non-essential communications

For Australian Users (Privacy Act 1988)
We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). You may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have breached your privacy.
For EU/EEA Users (GDPR)
If applicable, you have additional rights including data portability, restriction of processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our lawful basis for processing is consent (account creation) and legitimate interest (app operation).
For California Users (CCPA)
We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what data we collect and to request its deletion.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification.
