## Overview

Groovv is a vinyl record collection app for cataloguing, tracking, valuing, and sharing a personal record collection on iOS and Android. It is designed for vinyl collectors at every level, from people cataloguing their first few records to long-time collectors managing thousands.

Groovv is a companion to Discogs, not a replacement for it. It uses the Discogs database (16M+ releases) to identify records and can import an existing Discogs collection, but it does not require a Discogs account to use. Collectors can build and manage an entire collection inside Groovv on its own, by scanning barcodes or covers, without ever signing in to Discogs. The two tools serve different jobs: Discogs is best for the marketplace, buying, selling, and deep release research, while Groovv is for the everyday experience of owning, organising, and enjoying a collection on a phone.

- **AI Cover Scanning**: When there is no barcode, point the camera at the cover and Groovv's AI (powered by OpenAI and Gemini) identifies the album, artist, and pressing.
- **Discogs Import and Sync**: Import an existing Discogs collection in minutes from the same 16M+ release database, and sync to pull in later additions and removals.
- **Goldmine Condition Grading**: A step-by-step assistant grades media and sleeve separately on the industry-standard Goldmine scale (Mint to Poor) and suggests a grade you confirm or override.

- **Value Estimates: Every record shows an estimated value, free for all users, based on real Discogs sales for that exact pressing in the record's media condition (not asking prices). Ungraded records are valued as VG+. Pressings with no sales history yet are estimated from the lowest current listing, adjusted for condition. The collection total is simply the sum of every record's estimate, shown in the collector's preferred currency. These are estimates, not appraisals.

- **Collectors Directory: Browse public collector profiles, follow collectors, and view their collections in grid or Crate Flick view. All profiles are private by default; going public is opt-in.
- **Taste Match: A score of how much two collections overlap by shared records, genres, and eras. The score and shared counts are free; Pro unlocks the shared records, rarest shared pressing, and Records to dig (personalised picks from like-minded collectors' crates).
